How to play
- The host picks up to six single-variety wines from the grapes on the cheat sheet, wraps the bottles and numbers them. Only the host knows which wine is which.
- Print page 1 for each player and the cheat sheet on page 2 once per table. For each wine, tick colour, sweetness, acidity, tannin, body and aroma and compare with the cheat sheet.
- Then the guess: grape and country. At the end the host unwraps the bottles and counts the points.
Points: Right grape: 3 points · Right country: 1 point · At most 24 points for six wines
Cheat sheet: how 16 grapes taste
The steps of the WSET tasting grid, from the grape’s lightest style to its richest. Colour: a typical bottle, 1 pale to 3 deep; sweetness: 1 dry to 6 luscious; acidity, tannin, body and aroma: 1 low to 5 high.
